Today's Classroom Moments – July 1
With the summer heat wave bringing very high temperatures outdoors, we spent the day enjoying a variety of engaging indoor activities in our cool, comfortable classrooms.
The children continued working on their Fourth of July art projects, explored classroom materials, and participated in meaningful learning experiences throughout the day. We also enjoyed a lively dance party, giving everyone an opportunity to move their bodies, build coordination, and have fun together.
Our learning continued with American Sign Language as the children practiced familiar signs and added to their growing vocabulary. We also continued learning our patriotic song, "My Flag," as we prepare to celebrate Independence Day. Through music, movement, and repetition, children strengthen their memory, listening skills, language development, and confidence while having fun with their classmates.
Even on the hottest days of summer, learning, laughter, and joyful discoveries continue at My World Child Care Center & Montessori!
Learning Patriotic Song - "My Flag"
The children are continuing to learn our patriotic song, "My Flag," while using American Sign Language (ASL) signs to match the words. Combining music, movement, and signs encourages active participation, helps children stay engaged during group learning, and provides multiple ways to reinforce new vocabulary. Through repetition and meaningful movement, children strengthen their attention, memory, and confidence while enjoying the experience of learning together.
Red, White, Blue, and Creativity!
As part of our Independence Day celebrations, the children created patriotic artwork to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American Independence. Art activities like these encourage creativity, strengthen fine motor skills, and provide opportunities to learn about our nation's history and traditions in a meaningful, age-appropriate way.
